From Amsterdam Central Station, follow signs to the IJ-side and take the free F3 ferry to Buiksloterweg. After the 2-minute crossing, turn left along the IJ promenade; the entrance is in front of you beside the EYE Film Museum. The visitor address is IJpromenade 4. General Lookout tickets allow arrival during opening hours, but restaurant reservations or add-ons may have separate timing instructions, so keep the voucher available and allow buffer for the journey and check-in.
Children aged 4–12 use the child admission category, and children up to and including 11 must enter with an adult aged 18 or over. Iamsterdam City Card and Go City Pass holders can enter free without reserving a time slot; these passes cannot be used for combination tickets. A valid personal CJP pass provides reduced admission for the cardholder, while one companion of a visitor with an EU Disability Card may enter free. A’DAM Lookout is accessible by elevator, with staff assistance available; the stairwells are for emergencies only. The Over the Edge swing may not be accessible unless the visitor can take a few steps independently or a companion can assist.
Arrive early enough for security checks, ticket scanning and wayfinding.
FAQ
Keep the ticket barcode ready on your phone. A’DAM Lookout entry can generally be used during the venue’s opening hours, but some add-ons and combination experiences may have their own time slot; the Over the Edge swing uses a 20-minute slot.
Cancellation and refund terms depend on the seller and ticket type, so check the conditions shown before payment. A’DAM Lookout states that tickets can be rescheduled through the order-management link until the booking day; after the date, contact customer service to ask whether the date can be adjusted.
The official site is useful when you want venue-managed ticket changes or direct access to the attraction’s own ticket options. Partner tickets can be convenient when they bundle food or drinks, but compare the exact inclusions and seller-specific change or refund terms before checkout.
Bring only what you need and allow time for admission checks; a timed ticket does not guarantee that you can bypass any entrance or security queue. Paid lockers are available on the 20th floor for a jacket and small bag, while phones, cameras, bags, food, and drinks are not allowed on the Over the Edge swing.
For ordinary Lookout admission, the published guidance does not guarantee entry after a missed arrival window, so check the ticket conditions and contact the seller if you expect to be late. For the swing, arrive at least 30 minutes before your 20-minute slot because you need time to enter the attraction and reach the roof.
Children are covered by child-ticket rules rather than an automatically free admission policy. I amsterdam City Card and Go City Pass holders can enter the viewing deck free without reserving a time slot; one companion may enter free with an EU Disability Card, while the cardholder pays the regular admission price.
The main timed bottleneck is the Over the Edge swing: its ride is assigned within a 20-minute slot, with limited capacity per slot. The observation deck itself is more flexible, but you should still allow time for admission and any entrance or security checks.
