Buying guide
For July 2026, choose by the type of Amsterdam day you are planning: broad sightseeing with public transport, a fixed number of attractions, or transport only. The I amsterdam City Card is the strongest fit for intensive museum-and-transit use, while the lower-priced passes suit more limited itineraries.
It combines access to 100+ museums and sightseeing with public transport.
Compare offers ↓Its product title specifically limits the plan to three to five attractions.
Compare offers ↓The Amsterdam Pass is listed at 43.5 EUR, below the 67 EUR I amsterdam City Card.

FAQ
A digital I amsterdam City Card is used through the official app and can be activated when you are ready to start. Most participating locations do not require a reservation, but some do; a time-slot booking may require the voucher code from your confirmation email, and booking a slot does not activate the card.
For the official I amsterdam City Card, a refund is possible only while the card remains unactivated; cancellation is no longer possible after activation. For partner-sold products, check the cancellation terms shown at checkout because they may differ.
The official source is useful when you want the City Card app, activation guidance and direct support. A partner may be convenient for availability or checkout options, but compare the exact inclusions, activation method, cancellation terms and final checkout total before paying.
The card lets you present or scan your pass at participating locations, but it does not replace a museum or attraction's own bag checks, security screening or prohibited-item rules. Check the individual venue instructions before visiting, especially with large luggage or backpacks.
If a participating location requires a time slot, follow that venue's stated late-arrival policy; the City Card does not guarantee entry outside the booked time. Most City Card locations do not require time slots, but the locations that do should be checked before your July 2026 visit.
The official City Card does not offer a special child discount, and many museums instead provide free or reduced admission for children. Check each venue's age rules and whether a free or reduced visitor still needs a timed ticket or reservation; transport may also have separate child tickets.
The main planning bottleneck is not the card scan itself but securing required reservations at locations that use time slots. Also note that the Van Gogh Museum and Anne Frank House are not included in the official City Card, so those visits require separate planning and tickets.
